HOW - CONTROLLED PROCESS
Request browser location explicitly, filter the admitted listings, and rank by straight-line distance before formatting the displayed value.

THEN - BOUNDED RESULT
Show matching restaurants with links into their existing menus.

HOLD / DENY BRANCHES
HOLD: Location permission, coordinates, or required listing information is unavailable. DENY: An unauthorized actor attempts to change a restaurant listing.

ILLUSTRATIVE CASE
Two displayed distances may round to the same number while their unrounded values still determine the order.

VERIFICATION TO PERFORM
Use synthetic coordinates for ties, missing location, disabled listings, and name filters; do not infer driving time from distance.
